Accessibility

The site is built to be usable without a mouse and without images:

• every page has a skip link and a single descriptive heading;
• menus and forms are operable by keyboard, and closing a menu returns focus to the control that opened it;
• focus is always visible, on light and dark sections alike;
• form fields keep their labels on screen, and errors are described in words rather than signalled by colour;
• text and interactive colours meet AA contrast;
• animation is minimal and is switched off entirely when your system asks for reduced motion;
• the site works at 200% zoom and down to 320 pixels wide.

Two things are worth stating rather than glossing over. Some legal content is necessarily long, and long documents are harder to navigate however well they are marked up — each has an in-page contents list to help. And a small number of links open in a new tab, which is signalled in the link text rather than by an icon alone.

If any part of instructing this practice is difficult for you, we will adjust how we work. That includes appointments by telephone rather than video, documents in a different format or larger type, extra time, having someone with you in a meeting where independence allows it, and written summaries of anything explained verbally.

Ask at the point of enquiry, or at any time afterwards. You do not need to explain why.
